Sculpture on Main

Pogue and his wife, Marti, founded the successful Sculpture on Main exhibition in Marble Falls, TX. It is a yearly public art program. The sculptures are on display for one year (October to October) all along the side walks and medians of Historic Main Street. Click here for more details and the call for entry form!

The Pogues are members of the Uptown Marble Arts Alliance Board that promotes the show. It has over 20 sculptures on display this year. All the sculptures are for sale. You can see sculptures like One Trick Pony (shown to the right) and Kudu above while strolling the historic Main Street area and visiting local shops.

Gift of Love

Gift of Love

The Gift of Love was especially meaningful for Pogue to create. It was commissioned by Dr. Mark Akin in honor of his wife for her gift of a kidney to him. It is situated in a lovely garden at his home. Casting # 2 in the edition is displayed at the 2010 Sculpture on Main exhibit in Marble Falls.

Pogue also recently cast a new life size sculpture, The Blessing, of a mother and infant child for the new Women's Pavilion at St. David's North Austin Medical Center. It was installed April, 2009. (See picture to the left.)

Feed My Lambs

Feed My Lambs

A life size sculpture, "Feed My Lambs", (shepherd boy and lambs), is a commission for the First United Methodist Church in Georgetown, TX. It was installed at the entrance of the new Columbarium in June, 2009.

Dan created a new sculpture "Juan Diego" at the Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Alpharetta, GA in August, 2009. It is a companion piece to "Our Lady of Guadalupe" previously installed there.

 

Dan also exhibited work at the March, 2009 Night of Artists Gala Fundraiser for the Briscoe Museum in San Antonio. He was commissioned by the Museum Board to create a bust of Governor Dolph Briscoe, which was displayed at the Gala.

 

 

La Fiesta (shown below) a joyous sculpture of three Mariachis was donated to the Austin Sister City of Saltillo, MX. It was placed in their town Plaza and dedicated in July, 2008.

We are currently installing Dan's work in the sculpture garden on the grounds of the Pogue Gallery here in Marble Falls. Its a beautiful setting under a grove of Live Oak Trees and a dry / wet weather creek.

The Gallery and Foundry host several tours and fundraising events during the year for different groups. They lead ongoing tours of the gallery, foundry and the Sculpture on Main exhibit in Marble Falls. You are welcome to call and arrange for a tour for your group or on an individual basis.
